Ten To Three
Ten to three, the moonlight glistens.
As I awake I rise to listen.
Sounds from ‘neath my bedroom floor
And yellow light seeping under the door
Have my mind reeling.
Is there someone stealing?
My bended toes now take me forward
Silently slinking my way toward
The menacing clamor of things at unrest,
I put my courage to the test.
Ideas race as I grow near.
The mystery is coming clear.
A cheating husband is to blame
For sleeplessness inane!
With shock my prying eyes unclothe
The secret in which I now know.
Watch him quiver and quake
And grunt
As he sups chocolate cake!
