Cuddle
Cuddle with me my fallen friend
For you it's the end of a long hard day,
But for me it's the start of the rest of my life
In this hell of hunger and sadness and strife.
Cuddle with me just for a moment longer.
Let our memories linger like perfumes of the passed;
Days when we laughed,
And horrible, beautiful times of the past.
I lift my head from your shoulder now
And I softly stroke your waxy brow.
There's still no response
So I leave your silent satin box,
Then watch you roll away from me
And yet I hear you speak to me
Whispering sweet words to me
And feel you standing next to me.
Make me laugh when my eyes begin to puddle.
Make me laugh when I remember our last cuddle.
